TV Trivia Contest Rules
This is the page where Vince Daniels and Paul Andrews test and reward your knowledge of the characters, images, sounds and stories behind the unforgettable (and sometimes forgotten) icons of television, as they honor almost 70 years of this powerful medium and its memories.
They make it easy for you to win! Just check back here most Monday mornings for their latest trivia question. Sometimes it will be a straight question and other times the question will be based on a TV theme song that you'll need to identify.
You never know what kind of prizes you'll win. It can be $10 gift cards to some of your favorite hangout's like Pinkberry's Yogurt, Starbucks, Coldstone Creamery or Jamba Juice. They might ask a harder question and offer $25 movie passes. They can even make the questions really difficult and offer cash or other treasures from their vast trove of prizes.
All you have to do is be the first to send an e-mail with the correct answer to: Contest@DNARadioShow.com If you forget to log-on here on Mondays, then you need to be on our e-blast list. We send them out early Friday mornings. Send a note saying: "Hey, put me on your e-blast list." Please include your first and your last name (and of course your e-mail address) care of the above address. Winners will be announced the next day on the show!
KCAA employees, DNA hosts, contributors and their family members are ineligable. Only one winner per household please. You are only allowed to win cash and prizes once every eight weeks.
Way to go!
Gail Shephard of Norwalk, CA and Gina Jeffries of Moreno Valley each picked themselves up $50 in free gas courtesy of Shell Gasoline. We decided to award this to two winners! On January 23rd Paul asked this multi-part question on air and only required correct answers to 3 out of 4. Both Gina and Gail took the time to answer all 4 questions right. All the rest of you that participated, didn't even come close.
The trivia was based on the 1959-63 sitcom, "The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis." Reviewing the questions, you had to answer the first two, and could only miss one of the last two:
- We needed the name of Dobie's best friend, the actor who portrayed him, and something unusual about the character? Answer: Maynard G. Krebs, played by the late Bob Denver. The character of Krebs was a beatnik.
- We needed the actress who played Zelda Gilroy along with this little idiosyncrasy she had and how Dobie reacted to that idiosyncrasy? Answer: She was played by our special guest that joined DNA on January 30th to read these answers: Sheila James Kuehl. Zelda would wrinkle her nose at Dobie and in turn, Dobie would do the same back at her and often exclaim, "now cut that out."
- The name of the actor that portrayed Dobie's father, Herbert T. Gillis? Answer: Frank Faylen.
- The name of the actress that played Dobie's mother, Winifred Gillis? Answer: Florida Friebus.
More television trivia and your chance to win a variety of prizes when Vinnie returns to The DNA Radio Show sometime after April. As they say in TV, "stay tuned!"
