FINAL DNA AS DANIELS-N-ANDREWS BROADCASTS ON FEBRUARY 6
Jay Boatman Show Debuts February 13th
New DNA To Launch Sometime In April

San Bernardino (Monday, December 28, 2009) – As DNA Radio Show host, Vince Daniels recently returned from what his partner and sidekick, Paul Andrews described as a "hiatus for health," Vinnie will get ready to depart for another such hiatus in early February, this time for a little over 2 months. "When I get back to my show again in April," says Vince, "I'll have an even cleaner bill of health, not to mention that I'm not expected to take any more time off like this for the rest of the year."
Daniels returned to his show on November 14th where he has been co-hosting with Paul Andrews. The two began working together on DNA beginning in May of last year. Andrews returns on January 9th and the two will host together a few more times. Their final DNA show as a team will be on January 30th.
Listeners will also hear Andrews name announced during the familiar opening theme the following week when J.Francis & the Sexy Pippi return by popular demand to guest host The DNA Radio Show, February 6th. This will be the final week of the show as you've known it (well, sort of – remember this is J. and Pippi invading DNA that day).
Starting the second week in February the DNA Radio Show website will come down in order to undergo a slight revamp. It will stay down until April when the site and the show will re-launch to reflect the New DNA, which will stand for Daniels and his Audience.
"This is not to say that Paul will not have a place on the show," according to Vince. "He and his stellar interviewing very much have a place. It's just that I need a week or two each month to host alone, and when that happens, there won't be any need for co-host identification in the show opening or on my site. Ever since October of 2004 I've had co-hosts on my show. For the first 3-and-a-half years, I did my show alone. I miss those days and have determined that I really don't need a permanent co-host anymore. Yet occasionally I'm going to need people at my right hand side, like Paul."
Others that will be there to hold up Vinnie's arms will be Crista Curtis and Jay Boatman. Says Daniels, they will join the show together from time to time to tackle the hard news, particularly the political items. Andrews will take on the lighter news and especially nostalgia features, including his penchant for T.V. trivia.
Paul will continue with the Treasure Trove of T.V. Trivia contests. Vince's forte lies in talking about matters of the heart and items of more religious, sociological and psychological importance. He also enjoys those music memories, too.
"There will also be times when the 4 of us will all do a show together," says Daniels, of whom the show will alternately be known as "The Vince Daniels Show." At press time Vince is considering adding one or two others to his rotating cast of contributors though no firm decisions have been made.
Daniels asked to be temporarily released from his contract after the February 6 show. He didn't need the pressure of maintaining a guest-hosted show from week to week. "I need to totally give it a rest." Vince assumed that infomercials would take over his time slot but was relieved to hear that KCAA has opted to continue with live, local talk programmng and have decided to add a familiar talent.
Beginning Saturday, February 13th and continuing for at least 2 months, "The Jay Boatman Show" will debut from 10 a.m. to 12 noon (PST). "I couldn't be happier," says Vince. "Let's face it. Jay (shown above) is a class act and he really knows how to put on a show, and I can't think of a better presence than Jay's to keep DNA in everyone's minds while we're off."
Jay plans on featuring Crista Curtis as a semi-regular on his interim show. Also, both Boatman and Curtis will carry on with their new "Getting to know your Candidates" segments on The DNA Radio Show sometime after April. On those shows, Jay and Crista will guest host DNA. In this new calendar year, Daniels also plans to get more of J.Francis and Pippi to guest host, and when he's gone on summer vacation this year, he plans to call conservative comedian, Evan Sayet. Vince once promised him a couple shows and he plans to deliver.

"DNA RADIO SHOW" SIGNS FOR AN ADDITIONAL 55-WEEKS ON KCAA 1050 AM
CEO Fred Lundgren Also Clears Live Time On Affiliate KTAE 1330 AM In Texas
San Bernardino (Saturday, August 1, 2009) - An hour into what would be his final show, DNA Radio host, Vince Daniels had just told his KCAA audience that he would be away from his show for probably more than a few months - when he took a surprise call from station CEO, Fred Lundgren who not only expressed concern for the hosts health, but also felt the need to assure listeners that not only was Vince not going to be away forever, but that "The Vince Daniels Show now has tenure."
"Vince, you do an important show. You and I had a discussion a few weeks ago and if you haven't announced it already, I would like to right now." said Lundgren, unaware that Daniels planned to talk about this upon his return to DNA. Somehow, to both men, this seemed a more timely moment. "It is our firm commitment here at Broadcast Management Services to extend our agreement to keep your show going on Saturday mornings. Originally we had you and your crew here until about June of 2011. I would like to formally announce the continuation of The DNA Radio Show for an additional 55 weeks, taking you all the way to the first part of July, 2012. If the Mayan calendar is correct, we may just have you here till the end of the world."
The CEO of Broadcast Management Services (licensee of KCAA) went on to announce that as soon as Vince was well enough, shortly after his return he wanted to put him on his Cameron, Texas station, KTAE 1330 AM, also known as The Lone Star Legend, where Lundgren said "you'll gain an additional 1.8 million listeners to your audence." Daniels indicated a desire to start simulcasting there sometime in January of next year, where his show will be heard live there from Noon to 2pm in an area that also covers Austin and Waco.
On the subject of numbers, Vinnie also asked Fred about KCAA and its future listening potiential. Lundgren did not hesitate to share that work was currently underway to get his new transmitter towers erected. A permit by the FCC was granted to KCAA in March of 2008 but also expires 36 months thereafter. This permit grants KCAA 10,000 watts of power. Said Fred, "10 thousand watts isn't always what it sounds like. We would have 10 thousand clear watts of power. This means we would have 80% of the coverage of a 50 thousand watt station like KFI. This would put us way out past Burbank and close to Santa Monica and to the ocean, back the other direction through all of Palm Springs. At that time, KCAA would have a potential audience of 13.5 million listeners."
He assured Vince that during his new 3-year deal, DNA would be the beneficiary of that outreach at least 18 months into his tenure.

VINCE DANIELS TO TAKE TIME OFF FOR EXTENDED MEDICAL LEAVE
Announces DNA Host Lineup For The Next Few Months

San Bernardino (Monday, July 27, 2009) – Vince Daniels, executive producer and host of "The DNA Radio Show" will broadcast his final show on KCAA-1050 AM on Saturday, August 1 for what he believes will be a few months and maybe longer. Radical fluxtuations in blood pressure have his regular doctor and cardiac specialist concerned that any overly stressful situation can only worsen what they already view as a serious condition.
"One thing just lead to another with me. I'm actually grateful it happened this way," says Daniels who on May 27th admitted himself to the emergency room of Anaheim Memorial Hospital after what he described as feeling "out of it" and complaining of pain in an area near his chest. "They slapped a red band on my wrist and took me right in ahead of everyone else in the waiting room. All of a sudden I have at least 12 people, nurses, doctors and attendents hovering over me. Now I've got this breathing tube on and I'm hooked up to a heart monitor."
He was relieved to hear one of the doctors say, "your rhythms are normal." However the breathing tube stayed on and Vince was held for a 24 hour observation. The next day he would meet the cardiac specialist who said that the smartest move Daniels made was admitting himself, saying that just because pain happens on the other side of the chest, doesn't mean it can't eventually work its way there. A few hours before he was released, Vince took the stress test and passed with flying colors.
Two weeks later he returned to the specialist for follow-up tests. What was of concern to his doctor that day as well as prior in the ER, was how quickly Vince's BP count would change. "One minute it could be as high as 155 over 122. Then a few minutes later it could be as low as 98 over 59, and then shoot right back up again within a matter of minutes. See, I've gotten so good at this, that I can put my mind in a state of relaxation when they have that blood pressure tester hooked up to me. I'm thinking surely it should read 120 over 80; but that's when it's way out there in orbit." Through continued tests, medication and special diet, his specialist is hoping to soon isolate the cause of the fluxtuations.
"Over the past few weeks," says Vince, "my doctor has counseled with me and tried to get me to look at my life and figure out which aspect of it is acting as a stress inducer. I hated to admit it, but it kept coming back to me. It's the radio show. I thought I could balance my life in a way that I could maintain this weekly responsibility and still do the other things that have been looming in my life for so long, such as getting a sense of organization to my life; excercising regularly; eating right; sleeping right. All those things keep getting put on the back shelf, and over here, this fun thing called The DNA Radio Show, stops being fun. I know its supposed to be fun, because there are weeks where I get such a rush doing it. But now my health is knocking at my front door. Not only am I gonna answer the door, this time I'm gonna let it in. I have to. I don't have a choice this time."
Daniels says he'll be back to his Saturday show when he knows that his health and other aspects of his life are under control. Not one minute before. "I'd like to be back before the holidays get started. KCAA has DNA doing a live 2-hour Christmas special on December 24th from 4 to 6 pm. I certainly hope to return by then. My website will be updated now every 2 to 3 weeks on Monday mornings. Also, KCAA will run announcements from week to week letting folks know who will be guest hosting that coming weekend. No best-of's. I always want the show to be live and fresh."
About KCAA, Vinnie wanted everyone to know this. "I want to thank Dennis Baxter for being so understanding of my situation and for the station allowing me this extended leave. I have a long-term contract and a wonderful relationship with KCAA. When I get back, we're still gonna have a way's to go and a lot of airtime together. I wouldn't stay gone this long and not leave my show in the best of hands."
Host lineup…
Vince's co-host, Paul Andrews will solo host the majority of the shows beginning with the Aug. 8 broadcast. Also scheduled for a few of the shows are the team of Nick Anthony and Mark Smith, who have previously guest hosted DNA. Show regulars Jay Boatman and Crista Curtis are slated to guest host together. Jay will host one solo. In his "Many Moods" days, Daniels had a few different fill-in's. The only voice you'll recognize from those days is conservative comedian, Evan Sayet, who once guest hosted and struck fire among liberal listeners that were tuned in. He'll be back to take over one DNA show sometime in September. Other talent that will get a chance to fill-in include Joe Patrick with his "Two Hours of The Truth;" voice-over artist, KFSH weekend personality and DNA announcer, Bruce Barker; KCAA Program Director and former station host, Paul Lane, and newcomers J. Francis & The Sexy Pippi who are set to get their terrestrial radio debut.
